Whats going on here!

In this development, I have integrated a circuit board (Arduino) and an Andriod tablet that now gives you the ability to control external functions and provides feedback on what is happening in the physical world, all digitally inline. This is being used within the forklift industry to ensure that safety requirements are met before the driver utilizes the forklift. You will notice from the video that the LED only goes on after the required safety checks have been completed, which then provides the signal to start the forklift.

What is this!

In this prototype, I developed an embedded hardware unit utilizing the Raspberry PI with a 3G header for connectivity. This unit links up with an array of RFID readers and can even determine the direction in which products are moving. The data generated by the unit is uploaded realtime and analyzed through an online system that I have also developed.

I was the lead software developer for the ASSET system which essentially controls the South-African Government's spending in the higher education sector.

As the Lead Architect of the Time Manager software solution, I have had major exposure into all facets of HR, Timekeeping and Biometric development. This solution is currently integrated into various departments in the same organisation.

The Safety-Check software you see here is the web interphase for our feature development seen above. All the data collected by the Android devices are available in a central online system for reporting.

In this Android application, the device is used to collect the data from the forklifts and submit it to a central system for reporting. The device also informs the driver to complete the Safety Check.

Within this IOT development, I have integrated an Arduino and Raspberry PI to create an ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle). Using some of the latest technologies this ROV can be driven via a normal webpage or through an Android or IOS based APP.
